We start with the city tour, visiting the Maracana Stadium, the Cathedral, the Sambódromo and the Historical Downtown part of Rio, then we go to the Sugar Loaf.

A privileged view of the city and an infrastrcture for those who want more than admire the sky, the sea and the mountains of Rio de Janeiro. Definitivaly, the Sugar Loaf, a hill that alternates between parts of pure rock and Arlantic Forest, doesn't let down the tourists that decide to make a visit to the top.

Going up the Sugar Loaf is almost an obligation for those who stroll through the "Marvelous City". It is more than enough to affirm that the people just go into extasy with so much natural beauty. From the top, it is possible to see not only Rio de Janeiro with its beaches and historical building, but Niteroi as well.

To go up the Sugar Loaf there is the traditional cable car which was the first one installed in Brazil. The cable cars leave in 30/30 minutes and run a total of 1325 meters, carrying up to 75 passengers per trip. On the course, the tourist make two stops. The first is on the Morro da Urca, a little bit more than 500 meters from the starting point, where there is an excellent restaurant with a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro, souvenir shops, a helipad and an outdoor theatre. After this, there are only 750 meters left to reach the summit of the Sugar Loaf, where the tourist can find more shops.

There are various stories about the origin of the name of Pão de Açúcar (Sugar Loaf). A legend says that during the peak of the sugar cultivation, the Portuguese put the sugar in clay cones to be exported to Europe. The farms were called sugar loafs and, the hill had a shape similar to the cones.
